West Johnston Students help out their community

In December, West Johnston High EB members in Benson, NC decided to help a family at their school hit hard by our countries current economic crisis for their fall project. Students raised over $300 to help with unpaid bills and also help furnish part of their home.

Here is what some of the students had to say…

Andy Taylor, an EB member, commented that the family, “even when it was hard to help themselves…took in an abused dog. This [is] the kind of family … [they are].”

Taylor Logan, another student helping out the family even donated his own kitchen table to the family. “You can always do something to help people in your community,” he said!

Elizabeth Bonilla, the faculty sponsor for EB at West Johnston said she was “so proud of [her] students and their hard on this project. [They] helped turn that house into a home and got the family everything they need to function.”

Lastly, EB member Matthew Parrish said that he “…can’t wait for our next project with Everything Burns!”
